《2x48》是一款休闲益智游戏，简约而优雅的设计，让玩家跳出框框思考。游戏的目标是连接相同编号的方块，以使它们合并成更高的数字。在八个方向（上、下、左、右或对角线）中的任何一个方向滑动相同的数字以合并它们；将多个相同的数字合并在一起时获得更高的数字；不断合并数字以获得尽可能高的数字。游戏还设计了三种辅助道具，让玩家在困惑的时候得到帮助。分别是：1.锤子，可以移出任一方块；2.交换，可以任意交换两个方块的位置；3.翻倍，可以使除最大方块外的任一方块数字翻倍。在《2x48》排行榜上，根据玩家的分数，从大到小依次给玩家排定名次。玩家可以清楚的了解自己当前的水平，与成千上万的其他玩家一起比较竞技。
